Privacy Policy

PlanVoya is built to need as little data as possible. You don't create an account, PlanVoya itself sets no cookies, and we don't use advertising or analytics trackers. The one exception is our affiliate network's script, which we load only if you agree in the cookie banner. This page explains exactly what happens to the information you give us.

What we process and why

• Your trip details. We use what you enter in the planner (destination, number of days and travellers, trip type, budget level, interests, optional dates, currency and notes) to generate your plan. We save the plan together with these details so your share link keeps working. Saved plans don't contain your name or contact details, and we keep them for up to 12 months. Please don't put personal information in the notes field.
• AI processing. To write your plan, we send your trip details to our AI provider, Anthropic PBC (USA). Anthropic processes this data on our behalf under its commercial terms. It does not use it to train its models by default, and it keeps it only for a limited period for safety and abuse monitoring.
• IP address. We use your IP address to limit how many plans can be generated per hour and to protect the service from abuse. The counter that contains it expires after about one hour. Our web server also writes standard access logs (IP address, browser, requested page) for security and troubleshooting. We keep these for a short period, typically up to 14 days.
• Clicks on partner links. When you click a booking link, we record which partner, which button and which destination were clicked, and the date. This record contains no IP address or other identifier. We use it only as aggregated statistics.
• Your device. Your browser stores your light/dark theme, the items you ticked in a plan's checklist, and the plan you just generated, and your cookie choice, in its own storage (local and session storage). This data stays on your device and is never sent to us. It isn't a cookie.

Legal bases

We process your trip details because you ask us to create a plan (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We process technical data for security, abuse prevention and aggregated statistics on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a safe and reliable service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We load the affiliate network script only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.

Service providers and partners

• Hosting: our servers are run by Alfahosting GmbH in Germany.
• AI: Anthropic PBC, USA (see above). Transfers to the USA rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
• Affiliate network (only with your consent): if you click "Accept" in our cookie banner, we load a script from Travelpayouts, the affiliate network we work with. It recognises links to travel partners on the page and turns them into tracked partner links, so a booking can be attributed to PlanVoya. To do this it may store an identifier in your browser (a cookie or similar) and process technical data such as your IP address and the pages and links you interact with. If you click "Reject", the script isn't loaded. You can change your choice at any time via "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. When you click a partner link, Travelpayouts and the partner record that click on their own sites so a resulting booking can be credited. For details, see the Travelpayouts privacy policy.
• Booking partners (for example Booking.com, Klook, GetYourGuide, Viator, Airalo, SafetyWing). When you click a partner link, you leave PlanVoya, and the partner's own privacy policy and cookies apply. Partners may tell us that a booking happened so they can pay a commission, but they don't share your personal details with us. See our affiliate disclosure.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Because plans are anonymous, the easiest way to have one deleted is to email us its link at hello@planvoya.com.

Children

PlanVoya is not directed at children under 16.

Changes

If we change how we handle data, for example by adding analytics, we'll update this page and the date at the top first.
